A Salmon Dinner Party

Had some of the Look motley crew over to Muswell Hill for a dinner party. I had to feed them well, as according to them I live outside London and they have to pay roaming charges ( it's ZONE 3 ffs!)

Anyway for starters m&s bought goodies and asparagus wrapped in Palma ham. I pulled the mains out the bag (as in 'did well' NOT the m&s carrier) with a whole salmon (fish monger bought - ooo fancy!) stuffed with salsa verde roasted on tomatoes, home made creamed spinach and garlic green beans. All that without a south african maid in sight, get me!

Pud included 3 different cheeses (one of which a potted Stilton) frozen grapes and chutney.

We got through 8 bottles of 'fizz', 3 bottles of red wine, sang 30 Lucky Voice karaoke songs (who knew me and Andrews actually sound like Adele?) and played possibly the bestest most funniest game of Challenj in history. Rachel Storey was EXCELLENT.

Oh and someone was sick. Don't think I didn't notice the toilet bowl miss-fire guys and whoever it was kindly OWN UP NOW.

All an all the yearly Stofberg-Look Christmas dinner was a roaring success (quite literally - thanks Lucky Voice)

Office's Eastern Delight

So off we went to Great Eastern St with Office's hottest.....Tobie Evans. And what lolz we had, from jungle duck curry to prosecco drinking games (correct, prosecco drinking games, that's how we roll). Which felt so right on the night not so funny the morning after.
Lychee and Butternut curry to which Kate said 'a real treat because it's not like you ever have lychee's in your curry at home'

Salt 'n Pepper squid finger lickin' good.
Tobes and Pet do a carnivore 'Lady and the Tramp' with a rib of beef. She's from South Africa... if there aint a hunk of meat involved, she's just not interested.
Wheato's prawn phad thai.
Kate makes out with a prawn dumpling, the things she did to an edamame should only been seen in
x-rated video shops. The gal had no choice... there were no diet coke cans available
We had to take a pic of Kate and Fi's side of the dinner table post dinner. Animals.
Cleaner more sophisticated side, I'm not picking my nose btw....
The classic 'behind the bar' shot. That gag never gets old
The kind of bar tenders that will put you out of business. Mint leaf anyone?
.
The only way to drink prosecco.... in a fountain. Living in the 80's...
Cheers Office! Great times! And just when we thought the night couldn't get any better...

Fiona's prayers were answered! (god..pleasesendmeaginger...pleasesendmeaginger)

In the form of Rupert Grint from Harry Potter fame! Love the way he's keeping it real in a hoody. The guys loaded.

What followed back at his hotel room can never be revealed.... but lets just say we'll never watch The Philosophers Stone in the same way again....

Sunday night tea at the wolsley

After an extremely annoying day, the type where you chore all day and get nothing done, where you feel pleased you've changed the sheets only to realise you've put the tv remote controls in the wash as well #clunkclunkclunk.

I got a nice Christmassy treat by being taken to the wolsley for sunday dinner. Despite there being not one Christmas decoration (buck your ideas up wolsley the ritz is kicking your ass next door) we has an extremely delish dine.

1/4 pint of prawns to share. To be fair we should of gone for the 1/2. I had to restrain myself from taking more that my quota. I didn't succeed.

Followed by the most amazing roast beef in London. With a side of buttered spinach for her and sprouts for him, who knew people actually ate them out of choice?!

Made even better by the waiter singing throughout the meal, we never realised the wolsley also took part in Erasure hour.

This weeks pack-up-ratatouille

Well, I say this weeks, but if I'm
Hons it's more like every week. I've perfected it after many attempts, to which Kate Andrews now refers to it as 'restaurant quality' Nigella who?

Chop up onion, mushrooms, courgette and aubergine, normally there'd be peppers but the Baltic weather conditions (I've been to brazil don't you know) meant I couldn't be arsed to go to amins cornershop.

Cover in olive oil, salt and pepper and oven roast til ready. Meanwhile add more oil to a pan and fry off garlic and dried chillis.

When done add the veg, tomatoes, tomatoe purée, basil and white wine.

Distribute into Tupperware and serve with mozzarella (after being re-microwaved at work, unlike chips, mozzarella doesn't work quite so well being triple cooked #dryassand) add a side of rocket and Parma ham and that's work lunch sorted?

I wonder what Anna Wintour takes in for pack up?

Wednesday's Mexican Fiesta... Arrriba!!!!

Wednesday night and me, Downie, our publicist J. Willmore and official photographer Mygdal hit Chipotle (chip-ot-lay) for a mexican banquet. Underlay underlay!

Downie and I started with tortilla chips, guacamole and hot hot HOT salsa. Doritos can take a back seat, these mamas are the real deal. Spice up your life!!

We helped ourselves to drinks...
Orangina - well, when in Mexico.....

When the others (finally) arrived it was time to order...

Wheato Downie was loving her taco meat feast. Chicken, pork and beef - not a shitake in sight.

I went for a chicken bowl complete with all the Mexican trimmings (beans, beans with bacon, guacomole, 2 x salsa types, onions, peppers... you know the drill)

(despite this pic I am NOT Jewish Orthadox by the way..)

Meisel Mygdal was third in line. After "a hard days slog" (she spent most of it on the blower) and a long journey into London ("I don't want to talk about it") the usual happy snapper was in a grump. Very downbeat in fact. Luckily 2 out of 3 of her cool and hip London friends, a publicist in a suit, and a delicious Chipotle steak bowl were on hand to cheer her up. And guess what it worked (thank gawd!). She even opted for extra tabasco. Well she is a fiery red head after all.

Check it out, a Persian eating Mexican. We should sell this pic to the Head of PR for the UN. The world unites!!

In between v important photocalls regarding our v busy schedule, first class flight bookings and book deals etc,  J.Willmore managed to wolf down a steak burrito (knew it) with rice. What can I say, growing boys need carbs

We finished our meals and were SO FUUULLLLL but Downie and I managed to haul our (now larger) asses into the kitchen (cleanest you've ever seen) for a tour by the lovely Melissa.

First up we met Adrian on onion duty. He'd chopped loads and there wasn't a Kleenex in sight - hardcore!!

(***** Veggies look away now*****)

Lara, was carving up a cow.

Downie, causing 'a stir' in the kitchen (lolz)

Me and Melissa in the walk in fridge by the marinating meat (Downie left after this point. She was 'toooo coooold'. WIMP.)

10/10 - lovely night, LOVELY staff at Chipotle and lovely food. Be warned Nandos fans, visit Chipotle and you'll never want to visit Nandos again. We'll be back to this place quicker than you can say Speedy Gonzalez!

A birthday tea for Wawa

Sam's gran (Wawa) is visiting us from France this week and it happened to be her birthday on Wednesday so we did her a birthday tea.
Unfortunately she wanted Chinese, no good Chinese take always near us and it's a notoriously tricky to cook cuisine. So we relied on good ole M&S. Sammo 'made' Peking duck which I demolished to the point where Sam complained about my duck to wrap ratio (I was trying to keep the carb ratio down), sweet and sour chicken, egg fry rice, noodles, black bean beef and spring rolls. I have to say not one of my fave meals but Wawa was one happy lady.
For pud a coffee and walnut cake (blghrrrr coffee cake poss my worst flavour ever sorry Zoe!) but Sam and Wawa were happy and it wasn't my birthday after all. If it was I'd have opted for carrot, red velvet or lemon (take notes people).
