Rock Tea at the W

The lovely girls at Warehouse decided to treat me and the Eichler to afternoon tea at the W.

Now, a hotel who lets just say put the W into swanksville doesn't do just your bog standard afternoon tea. Nope, this was Rock Tea. That's rock star themed - nothing pebble related. So rock star themed that we walked past a sleeping paparazzi on the way in! Despite me coughing loudly and prodding him with my brolley he acted uninterested that I'd 'arrived'.
Loser.

Being rock n roll to da core I obviously kept my "shades" on all afternoon.

Eichler modelled the Rolling Stone meringue lips.

And we pondered just how the bread on the smoked salmon sandwiches managed to get that colour. Brown Sugar perhaps?!

Check out this electrifying feast

The decor was er, interesting. This wall of plates was big enough to rival Jodie's bathroom and I thought this fella looked a tad like a shamed tax dodging comedian

Of course the afternoon wouldn't have been complete without a rock star appearance so we were satisfied when the one and only Geri Halliwell decided to join us. Now if she's not r n r then I don't know what is. She crafted a union jack shift dress out of a tea towel AND she's snogged Robbie Williams.

This is the back of her head. What ?! She's camera shy alright!!

Please note that this is the second Spice Girl 'meeting' that me and Eichler have ticked off - for those who dont know, we accosted Mel B on the IPC tenth floor.

Natch we're working our way up and Vicky B will come last but in the meantime we're spending our nights hanging around the door of lesbians anonymous in the hope of seeing Mel C.

Peace out fly mofo's.

The Substitute

So after hearing the devastating news this week that I am no longer allowed wheat or Dairy WTF?! #FML (I refused to cave on cheese, a life without cheese is no life at all)
I hit the 'free from' aisles in waitrose with the rest of lifes losers to find some suitable substitutes. Just call me Fiona Downie Mark II. I HATE people like me.
First stop was to find something to replace my daily pint of milk.. In the Nellist household this stuff is like the wholly grail, so cutting it out just isn't in my genes
The options were endless, Decisions decisions, almond, rice, almond, rice.
Well either taste better than the goats milk my mum forced on me that taste like liquid goats cheese. #hatemylife

Birthdays, Boozing and Brunch at Brixton Village

Alliteration skills just went through the roof with that title.

We had an excellent booze up at The Duke in Brixton for Charlotte and Pixie's (pumphrey not Lott) joint birthday do. Such a cool joint I even spied Stu look magazines art director extraordinaire boozing it up with his chums. Needless to say we were all a bit worse for wear today. So after a spot of brunch at the Ritzy and seeing Tom O'Dell who made us all feel sick having bought mothballs (WTF?!!) we hit Seven coffee bar at Brixton Village. I'd never been to this coffee bar before, but it takes shabby chic to a whole new level, basically if you're not a bit rough round the edges you won't get a table - thanks to Pixie "i haven't been to bed yet" Pumphrey we were sat straight down in the best table in the house. Despite the wait, the coffee was delish and Pixie's too amazing for words friend Flo introduced me to churros with chocolate sauce which went down extremely well. We had a great conversation slating fashion bloggers (hypocrite much) and had mega lolz over Charlottes knowing me knowing you ah ha joke. Had to be there probs. We heart Brixton Village - well it has been featured in a couple of low rent monthly titles recently, (they rhyme with Carpers Fazaar and Bogue) so it was only a matter of time before WDYHFTLN got in on the act too.

P.S charlotte is not actually naked in this pic

Who'd have knew round the corner in mile end massive was this little puppy. The fry up to end all fry ups thanks to the pavilion. For £9 this could be yours . Milk
Optional (unless you're wheat and dairy intolerant that is) FML

Only criticism was the beans, they tried to make them
Posh, Where the hell was the Heinz?! You're still in mile end FFS, know your customer.
Toppers (nice Ray Bans) enjoying the dine.. He even liked the beans, but then again he's the kind of guy that lives on a houseboat, rides a vespa and reads george Orwell for fun.. For FUN?!!
Now where'd I put my Dan Brown

A Week Of Greggs

Every year Greggs (sans Paddy McGuinness) set up shop and give away free food to the half starved IPC employees. Today, expectations went through the roof - sausage sandwiches, pain au chocolat, brownies, flapjacks....and this bad boy..Mr Pudsey Bear (gingerbread flavour). So big it covered Fiona's face. I sit opposite Downie so would love her to wear this strapped to her head all day, but annoyingly she's a wheato so I think she might come out in a rash. Today Greggs, tomorrow Gregg Wallace's joint with Internacionale. Maybe on Friday I might shack up with Greg James. Ideal man hashtag.

An Impromptu Italian (or two)

My dearest friend Carina came to the big smoke today for the first time in about ten years since we went to the worst university in the world (UEL) together. After searching for what seemed like years for a yellow dress and Carina near on breaking down in River Island we met her lovely sister Lucia (Jodie's new MC buddy) and Sam Pert (that's his name, don't wear it out) for a spot of dinner. Me and Sam shared an italian platter (swore we were in french restaurant- how'd you pronounce it again Louie?), Lucia had the frittata and Carina had the cheese board - I knew there was a reason we became such close friends. We had a delightful view of Liberty (Sam's head excluded) and then we finished the evening with a spot of ivory tinkling on Carnaby streets piano. Unfortunately Sam knew no songs from Annie the musical but it was charming all the same. Best Monday night in a while, I'll say. Tomorrow is only a day away.

A Healthy Breakfast

It's Sunday. Which means by all accounts I should be nursing a stonking hangover and craving sausage and egg sandwiches.

Not today. This weekend I am high on life having become an auntie (no i won't stop banging on about it) hannah:1, hangover: 0.

Nevertheless my breakfast was top notch. Porridge (quaker) with strawberries, sultanas, sliced banana and honey. Delicious AND nutritious

Just going to walk the dog and off to see my sister and her baby boy. Did I mention I'd become an auntie this week?? Here's a pic of Oliver James - i will be blogging his food intake too when he gets a bit older FYI.
